Story of an Hour

I found this story to be very interesting. I had to read this piece previously for an English class but when i had to read it for this class i couldnt figure out the ending. When we were asked to finish what we thought was going to happen i didnt even come close to it. The story does give you some type of hints that Ms Mallord isnt going to live but it turns out to be completly ironic that she actually dies not because of the bad news of her husband's death but of her husband being alive after she realized she was free.

Beauty

At the end of this play they mentioned Cindy Crawford so I decided to find out more about her. Her real name is Cynthia Ann Crawford. She was born on February 20th 1966 she was a former American model. She was well known for trademark mole just above her lip. She was on magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Allure. She now has two kids and resides in Malibu, California.

Joyce Carol Oates was the author of this story.
She was born in 1938 and is still alive today. She published her first book in 1963 and since then she has published over 50 novels, short stories and poetry. She won a few awards such as the Pulitizer Price.

BIG Black Good Man

While I started reading the story just in the first few sentences they talked about Copenhagen. I have heard about this city but didnt know much about it. So i decided to google it. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and its largest city as well. As of 2010 it has an urban population of 1,181,239 people and a metropolitian population of 1,894,521. The temperatures in the city are usually pretty cold only reaching a high of 68F for the summer months.

Everything That Rises Must Converge

While reading the story right at the begging it talked about Saint Sebastian. I have heard about this Saint but wanted to know more. Sebastian was said to have betrayed and was ordered to be tied up to a tree shot with arrows and left for dead, but the arrows didnt kill him. Irene of Rome nursed him and made him all better.

A Good Man Is Hard to Find

I wanted to know more on the author so I did some research. She was born on March 25th 1925 and passed away August 3rd 1964. She wrote 32 short stories and two novels. She was born in Savannah Georgia. She lost her father at the age of 15. She graduated college from Georgia State College for Women in 1945 with a Social Science degree. In 1951 she was diagnosed with lupus. She passed away at the age of 39.
