Dinner for One
My significant sentences that remind me of the story will have to be when she says " Same procedure as every year James" She said that so many times. This story I liked it was funny and even though it was in black and white and had very poor quality it was amusing. Poor waiter had to go around acting to be her guest drinking every time she would toast with a guest to the point that he was drunk.

Extras
Since im not sure if not if the group will have there blogs on time im going to add on extra post. In the play nine ten it was about jury duty so I decided to find more of how jury duty first got started. The modern jury duty evolved out of ancient customs of many Germanic tribes, where a group of men with good characters where chosen to investigate crime and judge the accused. In the picture above is a painting of a Jury in 1861 in Britain. The amount of people that are jurors vary in Scotland a criminal juror consist of 15 people.

Oedipus
This was the longest play i had to read in awhile. This play is can be very hard to understand just because of the word and the english used. There is so much going on in this play. Its a crazy situation and it keeps getting twisted and sicker as it continues to unfold. I decided to look up the meanings of the some of the names that were used. Phoebus for example in latin means the shinning one. Creon mean ruler. Oedipus means swollen foot. Zeus is the father of all god and men. I also decided to look up this period of time 430 bc. 430 BC was the year of the pre julian roman calender. In greece An outbreak of a plague hit Athens and the disease ravages the densely packed city.

I Dream before I take the Stand
The day that we read this in class i was absent. I started reading it and at first I just stopped I didn't know what it was about or why it was just question after question. After reading it in full I couldn't believe what was going on. How that female was assaulted once and then assaulted again. Its sad to think but this is reality this happens often. Females there are once been victim of assault are always twice as likely to become assaulted again. I researched the author Arlene Hutton. She is also the author of the Nibroc Triology.

Tape
This was a very short play but my far my favorite line of this play was the last was when the attendant spoke he said " every ugly lie to every single time, every betrayal every lying thought, every time you lied to yourself, deep in your mind, we were listening, we were recording, and its all in these tapes, then thousand boxes of them, in your own words, one lie after the next, over and over until were finished. So the amount of time varies. The amount of time you spend here all depeds on how many lies you told. How many boxes of tape we have to get through together
Nine- Ten
I actually enjoyed reading this play in class. I found it very amusing. I never have done Jury duty yet but I could imagine it being alot similar to this play.Leslie metions her trip out the Hamptons. I have heard much about it but have never been there so I decided to do some reasearch.
The place reffered to as the Hamptons is several villages and towns of Southampton and East Hampton of the east end of Long Island, NY. The Hamptons form a seaside resort. Is extremely famous spot for the rich and the famous to visit.

Sunday In the Park
Sunday in the Park was a very short short story but even with its shortness it was so rich in details. It almost felt like you were actually there at the park from all the vivid description used. They metioned Times Magazine so I decided to do some reasearch on this Magazine. Its an American Magazine but there is also Time Eurpope that is published in London. It was created in 1923 by Briton Hadden and Henry Luce which made it the first weekely magazaine in the US. The first issue ever was published on March 2. 1923 with Joseph G Cannon on the cover. ( There it is on the Left) On the Right is a picture of the author Bel Kaufman whose real name was Bella and used Bel for short. She was born in Germany on March 10 1911 and is best known for writting the 1965 best seller Up the Downstairs.
